What are the system requirements?
Buzm currently requires Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Internet Explorer 6+ and Internet connectivity. We are working on Firefox integration and a Mac version with our very limited resources.
Do I need a broadband Internet connection?
No you do not require a broadband connection but it certainly helps.
Can I use Buzm outside the U.S.?
Yes, Buzm works outside the U.S. Let us know if you notice any language support issues.
No. Buzm is a FREE service.
Much like a beehive it's a private colony of users sharing a container for feeds and posts.
Simply click on the "Create Hive" button located at the top of the application window. Fill in the required information and choose your design template to add a new Hive.
How do I invite friends to my Hive?
You can invite friends by clicking the "Send Invite" button and entering their email addresses.
Click on the name of the Hive in the left-hand folder navigation to highlight it, and then hit the "Delete" key. Note that if you were the original creator of the Hive this will also remove it from any friends you shared it with.
How do I add a post to a Hive?
Click on the "New Post" button on the top of the application window. Fill in as much information as you like, select an appropriate Hive, and hit "Add Post."
Can I add an attachment to my post?
At this time Buzm does not support attachments. We hope to add this feature soon.
Absolutely! Simply move your mouse over the post and click "Edit" or "Delete" in the toolbar above it.
Posts appear in chronological order similar to a message board. Simply provide your response by creating a new post.
Why can't I find a shared post?
Buzm uses a peer-to-peer network. At least one member of the Hive must be connected in order for shared posts to be synchronized. Alternatively, make sure the calendar is set to the correct dates for the post.
How can I see all posts in a Hive?
Click the "All" tab in the right-hand toolbar to see a list of posts and feeds in alphabetical order.
How do I add an RSS feed to a Hive?
Simply click on the "Add Feed" button located at the top of the application window. Fill in the required information, and add to the Hive of your choice.
How do I remove a feed from a Hive?
Click on the name of the feed in the left-hand folder navigation to highlight it, and then hit the "Delete" key to remove the specific feed.
Buzm does not currently support Atom feeds. We hope to add this feature shortly.
Can I view the Hives I am subscribed to from a different computer?
Yes, simply install Buzm on any PC and login using your userid and password. Note that existing posts will only be synchronized over the peer-to-peer network if at least one member of the Hive is connected.
Can someone view a Hive if they are not invited to it?
No. Hives are shared on an invite-only basis.
Can two or more people have a Buzm account on the same computer?
Yes, each person can register for their own account and login using their unique userid and password.
How does Buzm protect my privacy?
Buzm does not sell email addresses or send spam to its users. Downloading Buzm will not infest your computer with any Adware or Spyware. For more information please review our Privacy Policy.
